After the decline period 1999-2004, the vulcanized shoes have been back as very hot items in both EU and US markets. Vulcanized shoes were well-known with Superga brand, Italy in the late 90’ and then successfully developed by Converse in the US. In the gorgeous decade of the 90’ footwear factories in Vietnam and China rushed to invest facilities to produce vulcanized shoes with the upper usually made of canvas...

US named the 1st importer of VN footwear

The export turnover of the industry to the USA surged to 611M US Dollars in 2005 named the country the 1st importer of VN foowear. It is no doubt US will also lead the list in 2006 with the expected turnover 750M.

However, the market share of Vietnam footwear in the US import market stands only 4% compared with China 85%.

Vietnam footwear export gains 3.6B in 2006

The export turnover of the footwear industry in Vietnam reaches 3.6 billion US Dollars in 2006, according to Lefaso. The industry is facing the anti-dumping measure by the EU with the AD duty of 10%. Some small companies specialized in leather shoes have to shut down...  

Health & safety are important management criteria of the group. The HR (Human Right) department in the headquarters sets up and monitors the health & safety system as well as Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) in all factories following the labor law and customer Code Of Conduct (COC).

Each factory has its own HR team linked with the headquarters’ HR department. Sporting activities, entertainment & training programs for employees are held annually. 

TBS group also joins various social programs and activities such as schools for local community, housing provisions for staffs and poor families, scholarships for poor students...

We provide our employees free meals, free basic health care and support their approach to local public facilities such as post office services, hospitals, public transportations, kindergarten, Schools and telecommunication.

We are striving to expand housing program to all of our workers in future.

Audit schedules in Jan. & Feb.2007

Several Audits in Jan. & Feb. 2007. As  a routine check, customers will conduct ethic HR and quality audits in all factories in the group within Jan. and Feb.
US customers will urge factories to perform strictly security procedures for shipments consigned to US ports to comply with US custom and border protection acts. 16 Surveillance cameras were installed last year at sensitive sites and more  security measures would come in 2007.
